Thomas (Tom) Blaikie.

“He was born 30th Mar 1904, Newtown St Boswells, Roxburghshire. Became engine driver after moving to Edinburgh. Had always worked on the railway since he was fourteen. He died at work on 1st Oct 1957 from a heart attack.

“He always went to work clean and tidy with shirt collar and tie showing above overalls and came home all dirt and grease from the engines.” – Vivienne Nisbet (daughter)
