About this memory
(L-R) – David Hutchinson (Snr), Olga Kirkwood, David Hutchinson, Robert Hutchinson, Gertie Hutchinson, Drummond Gillespie.
“My sister’s friend Olga worked with her in Harrogate and this was her first visit to Scotland. She loved my sister’s kilt and mother, who was a tailoress, arranged to have one made. I am wearing a very old and much too short kilt which I insisted on putting on for the occasion.
“Drummond had been evacuated to Portpatrick with us and is still in touch with my brother. He lives with his wife in Troon.” – Trudy Thomas (née Hutchinson) [2004]
