About this memory
(L-R) – Elizabeth Mobbs, Ernest Mobbs (Jnr), Evelyn Muir (née Mobbs)
“It is hardly a time to forget – my first visit to my cousin’s home, brother on visit. Mother, hand in plaster cast, she had been enjoying a paddle in the sea when someone pushed her onto rocks.
“At the time she was staying at my cousin’s on holiday, her wrist was never the same again, not so much of the fact of age but because it had been set wrong. Oddly enough the hospital in Edinburgh guessed where [the fracture] had been done – Tynemouth – supposedly well know for [accidents].
“I was expecting my first child.” – Evelyn Muir (née Mobbs)
