About this memory
This self-employed farrier was based at Fauldhouse in West Lothian and travelled to local farms in his Mini van, with its equipment and range of horseshoes in many sizes.
He would visit most farms every week or fortnight. Each horse needs to be shod about once every six weeks.
Westmuir Farm overlooks the Forth Bridges and stables about 40 horses.
