“This photograph shows the close family and Edith and Ernest Webster after their wedding ceremony. It was common for the wedding breakfast to be held at home. Here they are sitting in the garden for the photographer – note the cabbages in the foreground!
“Many of the female members were dressmakers/tailors and would probably have made their flounced, lace-trimmed clothes themselves.” – Jean Watt
