About this memory
I went to the Dean School in 1949, joining the second term when I was just four and a half years old. I was too young for the August intake and was left bereft when all my friends went and I had nobody to play with.I pestered my mother and she in turn managed to persuade Mr Murdoch the Headmaster to let me join the others. I loved it.
I have to say that considering we had little luxuries,we all seemed to be healthy and turned out to school clean and tidy.
