“James Todd was [my] gran Sarah Fraser’s father. Sarah had four sisters and one brother. She was the only one who survived to adulthood. James had several jobs in his life, which I found from his children’s birth certificates. He was a lamplighter and an excise officer.
“The photograph has ‘WM MacDonald, Photographer, Stornoway’ stamped on the back.” – Patricia Anderson (née Hendry)
