Miss Jane Laidlaw Beveridge pictured here round in the Well Court Gardens.

About this memory

1980 – Jane was born in Edinburgh in 1884 in the reign of Queen Victoria and lived for many years at 13 Dean Path Buildings. She was a “Centenarian” and reached her 100th Birthday. Jane passed away aged 101 years.

Jane is pictured here with Colette (Colin McKenzie’s daughter who was visiting her granny Mrs Mckenzie who lived in Well Court). Colette has her arm around Jane with my daughter Suzanne, who was 4 years old beside her.

To the left of Mrs Beveridge is Josie Mobbs’s dog. Josie lived in Dean Path.

The bench they were sitting on was from the Dean School, which closed in 1959.

(To the far right, you can see the new timber arm rests supports that were installed for the covered bench)
