Mary Swanson (née McKinlay) with her daughters (l-r) Peggy, Frances and May.

“Probably a family walk to King’s (now Queen’s) Park. The family stayed near here in Lilyhill Terrace. Peggy and May are wearing Brownie uniforms. Frances was born in October 1919.

“Peggy died from scarlet fever aged about eight years. May died in childbirth in 1951. Mary Swanson died in her forties, from a now preventable heart condition.” – Margaret Munro (née Watt) [2008]
