Nancy “Annie” Tocher graduation

Nancy “Annie” Tocher graduation

About this memory

My grandmother, Nancy Tocher, in her graduation photo from Edinburgh University, 1914 to 1918. Her given name was Annie but she hated it and preferred to be called Nancy. She worked as a teacher until her marriage and then again after my grandfather’s death in 1945. She was born in 1893 in Coldstream and died in 1951 in Dumfries. After her parents’ marriage broke up, she and her sisters and brother lived in Edinburgh. I am not sure of the date of her graduation.
