Newtongrange Gala Queen Attendant Standing Outside Door Of 26 Main Street c.1988
1988

About this memory
Christine Spence.
“Unfortunately I was not present at the time, photos were sent to me. Christine [my granddaughter] was picked out from school to be the Queen’s attendant. However I had been present at other festivals, the bands were really wonderful, and the processions great, fun was enjoyed by all. No.26 was [an] old miner’s cottage, which had to remain as they were. No.26 was across from the miners welfare.” – Evelyn Muir (née Mobbs)
