Pet Cat Sitting In Front Of Electric Fire At Home In Waverley Place, early 1960s

About this memory

The fireplace was built by Ben Hendry, and was the height of fashion at the time.

“The clock on the mantelpiece is electric (not batteries), it was a wedding present in 1945. Note the portable record player (bottom right), it was like the famous “Dansette” but was actually a Philips brand.

“The cat was called Cindy – found as a tiny kitten riddled with tapeworm. The family dog Judy adopted her as her ‘pup’.” – Patricia Anderson (née Hendry)
