Alexander Bremner Garden (left).
Alexander moved to Edinburgh and trained as a mechanic, working at Rossleigh motor engineers. In 1937 he joined the Territorial Army.
At the outbreak of war he saw action in France with the Royal Artillery and was evacutated at Dunkirk. He later fought through France and Germany and witnesssed the aftermath of Belsen. As typhoid was rife in the camp the soldiers were ordered to shoot anyone who attempted to leave.
