War Damage To Ship 1940s

War Damage To Ship 1940s

About this memory

“Looks like the conning tower of a submarine. No doubt the idea of taking the picture [by my father, Ernest Mobbs] was likely to have been a hit from the ship he served on at the time. It must have been a very large hole. If it is not what I think [a conning tower] it is a strange funnel.” – Evelyn Muir (née Mobbs)

Photograph from collection of Ernest Mobbs who served in both World Wars.
