Young Family Standing Around Their New Car, July 1948

Young Family Standing Around Their New Car, July 1948

About this memory

George and Dorothy Acheson, with their children (l-r) – Phoebe, Toby, and Nick.

“We moved from Brookline, Massachusetts, to Cincinnati, Ohio, in June 1948. We drove there in our black Ford car [behind right in photo] but my father had a long drive to work so he bought this small Crosley car to commute in. Crosleys didn’t last very long because they weren’t very good cars. Cheap, but not reliable.” – Phoebe Acheson Isard
