First Air-raid on Britain (Forth Bridge) WW2

October 1939

Early in Oct. 1939 the first air raid on Britian, was on The Forth Bridge. I was standing at Chesser and Dalry Road and saw tiny specks of silver, very high in the blue sky. German aircraft, at least one was shot down, and crashed in East Lothian Hills, photos in newspapers, next day. The Bridge was not touched. WSM
