About this memory

The Sentinel newspaper had a series of articles on the different Venchie playgrounds in the area, including the Hailesland Venchie shown here. The Venchies were wooden structures for play, built after concern that there was nowhere for local children to play in Wester Hailes. The Venchies were very popular and always evoke fond memories from those who used them.
